ILDSA Swim Ratification

The ILDSA has set out in its charter to act as a promoter for open water long distance swimming in Ireland by ratifying and recording marathon and notable swims that occur in and around the Island of Ireland.

Our objective is to reward and recognise swimmers who are pioneers in open water swimming, whilst also capturing the rich history of swims in Ireland to inspire our future generations.

The ILDSA will ratify Skins Solo swims of 10km or more unassisted, and Skins Relay swims of 20km or more unassisted – maximum 6 swimmers per team.
Before the swim:
Familiarise yourself with the ILDSA Marathon Swim Rules
Download and print the 2024 ILDSA Observer’s Report and ILDSA Observer’s Guidance Document
After the swim:
Visit the Ratification page and complete the online ratification process: https://ratification.ildsa.info

Ratified swims will be promoted on ILDSA social media, and become part of Ireland Swim History recorded on the ILDSA website. They will receive formal certification and presentation, and will be eligible for consideration for specific categories of awards, at the ILDSA Annual Awards ceremony.
